Soccer

This year we signed Dylan up for soccer and it has been so fun to watch him! He is actually really good! His last game the coach from the other team came up and said that he's starting a competition team next year and wants Dylan to tryout. Dylan was the only kid that we saw him ask to tryout. We were so excited for him! We kept telling him how awesome it was that the coach asked, but we are still not sure he understands how cool that is. Dylan absolutely loves soccer and is loving playing!

I just love him!

He that is was the coolest thing that he got to be captain like Kyle Beckerman
He loves that his uniform says Real Salt Lake on it :)
I just adore that little boy!
Lets record Daddy taking a picture of us lol

Easter

We did not have Dylan on Easter Sunday this year, so we did his Easter egg hunt today (Wednesday). He was so excited, but said that the Easter bunny hid them too easy. Oops- you can blame me for that one lol. But I didn't know where to hide them! He loved his little Easter egg hunt, some of the eggs even had money in them :) He got a few nick-knacks, a star wars shirt, a USA soccer jersey, and 2 Grave Digger monster trucks. If you can recall from Monster Jam, Grave Digger was his favorite. He loved all of his Easter goodies. We hadn't seen him for 2 weeks because of spring break. Man was it so good to see him! I have pretty much held him all day- which he is totally fine with :) I sure do miss him when he is gone! Here are a few pics of my little man :)

His awesome Grave Digger trucks!

Come Sail Away :)

So for our one year anniversary, we decided that we wanted to go on a trip somewhere. So we decided- what the heck?!? Lets just go on a 5 day Carribean cruise :) Yes thats right, 5 days in total relaxation! We will port at Cozumel, Mexico and the Grand Caymans. Just typing those two places makes me beyond excited! Ted has never been on a cruise, and this will be my 3rd. It is the only way to travel! Ted also has always wanted to go to Florida so we will stay 3 extra days to go explore Florida. We are beyond excited to go on this trip! We decided that this was pretty much our last chance to go before babies start coming, and once they arrive we won't have this chance again for quite some time. We are planning on trying to get pregnant when we get back from the cruise. One last hoo-rah before the babies come I guess lol! But needless to say we are very excited for this trip! Here are some pictures of where we will be going- yes, it is okay to drool a little bit :)

That will be us- we are going to feed and snorkel with the sting rays :)

December- please come quickly!

Real Salt Lake :)

Last Saturday was the season opener for Real Salt Lake. Ted was seriously SO excited, I wouldn't be surprised if he peed his pants a little bit lol. We always go to the games with Ted's sister- and she was equally as excited as Ted. We also invited my brother and sister in law to come along. It was seriously such a fun game! It also helps that Real won :) The Rio Tinto Stadium will be our home on Saturday's for the next 8 or so months. I must really love my husband :)

Parenting

So I try to keep my posts upbeat and fun.... However, this one will be a little different. But the point of this blog is to act in place of a journal. So might as well share my thoughts right? If you want to skip over this post and wait until the next one I wouldn't blame you at all. So as you know, when I got married I became an instant mom to the cutest 7 year old boy in the whole world. He makes me so happy and with Ted my life is complete. But having to share him and only get him some of the time it is the hardest thing I have ever had to go through. The poor kid goes from one lifestyle to something completely different. I wish that he was always with us, and never had to go. This morning he crawled into bed with me and said, "I wish that it was just me, you, and daddy. No one else. Well, besides the judge so that he could tell me that I can live here forever." It just made my heart melt. I want nothing more than to have Dylan every second of every day. Some of you might not know, but we are in the middle of going to court to get more custody of Dylan and it is EXHAUSTING!! I am so ready for it to be over! We would love to have full custody of Dylan, but even a day more a week would be a complete success. We have already spent thousands of dollars and we haven't even gotten anywhere. It is so frustrating! We joke that we could have gone to Hawaii on our honeymoon with that money. But honestly, it is worth every penny to get more time with him. The hardest thing is when he cries because he does not want to go back to his moms house. Literally every day that he is with us he says he wants to live with us forever. So those of you that don't have to share your kids, consider yourselves extremely blessed. But that is all for my depressing post, but I want to look back on this day years down the road and remember how it felt and where I was at. I just hope that we get the outcome that we want. I love you Dylan, more than anything. Being your mommy has brought me such joy. Although I did not give birth to you, you are completely 100% my son and I would do anything to help you and keep you safe. I love you Dylly man!

Monster Jam!

A couple of weeks ago we took Dylan to see Monster Jam. It was seriously SOOO fun!! But I have to tell a funny story that happened when we were walking in. We were going into the ESA where the Malone and Stockton statues are and Dylan turns to us and says, "I know who Brigham Young is, he used to play for the Jazz." Umm... not quite, but we were busting up laughing! I love that little boy so much! So we go inside and the first thing Dylan sees is a monster truck hat with some cotton candy attached to it. Of course, we buy it for him. But the hat is the most adorable thing I've ever seen! Then we go get some Dippin Dots (a personal fav) and head to our seats. I told Ted when we sat down that I saw some ear plugs and maybe I should go get some for Dylan. I grabbed 3 pairs just in case. Completely thinking that I would not need them. Boy was I WRONG! It gets SO loud! Once the trucks came out it was a blast! The truck that won the whole thing was from Utah and actually flipped his truck on its side. It was so awesome! The whole way home Dylan was the announcer saying all of the trucks names. So cute! I love my little family!

The Vow

Last night Ted and I went to see the Vow. We both liked the movie, and it made me think about the different dates that I would want to re-do if one of us were to lose our memory.

  • The first time that we saw each other. We had heard about each other for months from my brother and sister in law. But they never gave us each others numbers. I moved into the same ward as Ted and went to church with Spencer and Sandra. I saw him sitting in the back row and thought to myself, "MAN! I sure hope that is him!" He was sitting by himself, and looking fine! When we sat down (a few rows ahead of him) and asked Sandra where this mystery amazing guy is. She didn't want to tell me, but then Spencer told her to just tell me or I wouldn't stop bugging them. She told me, and YES! It was him!! I knew in that instant that he was amazing! I kept looking back at him- I thought I was doing it in a sly way- but Ted says otherwise. He said it was very obvious, but I couldn't help myself! He's the best looking guy ever! After sacrament meeting Ted was working in the Library. Sandra introduced me to his mom, but never introduced me to him. But ohh I was interested- that's for sure!

  • I would re-live our first phone conversation. Ted was out of town for work, so we FINALLY talked on the phone. Our first conversation lasted about 2-3 hours. We kept talking about how Ted would find "Mrs. Right" and hey- it turned out to be me!

  • Our first date- one of the best days of my life! We went to the Thai House for dinner, went bowling, and went to Cold Stone for ice cream. At bowling we bet on whoever lost  the game, got to pay for ice cream. I lost, but he would not let me pay, even though I got my butt kicked! Afterwards, we went to my apartment to watch a movie. I knew from that moment that he was amazing! He was so different from anyone else I had ever dated! Yep- I knew that he was the one!

  • Our first kiss :) Those butterflies in your tummy that make life go in slow motion. That is exactly how I felt that day. We were in my apartment, and he kissed me good night. Afterwards he texted me and said that he thought I was going to let him leave. But he really wanted to kiss me. I am SOOO glad he did! A kiss never felt so natural, loving, and tender. It was the best kiss I've ever had! Just to think- I get to kiss him for the rest of eternity :)

  • Our first Real Salt Lake game together. Those of you that know my husband, know that he LOVES Real! Love I'm pretty sure is a huge understatement! Before I met Ted, I did not know pretty much anything about soccer. The first game I went to I was pretty much clueless! Ted and his sister was screaming- and I just sat there! But now I think I can keep up pretty good, and actually really like the sport!

  • The first time I met Dylan. From day one I knew that I didn't want to meet Dylan until I knew that Ted and I were serious, and that we were comfortable as a couple. The day I met Dylan is a day I will never forget. That little boy melted my heart, and became one of my best friends the second I met him. We played soccer together in Ted's parents front yard. That day changed everything. Not only did I have the man of my dreams, but a little boy that completely changed everything. I became an instant mom, but I could not imagine having it any other way. I love Ted and Dylan more than anything in the whole world!

  • The day we taught Dylan to ride his bike. It was SO fun! We had decided that he was 7 and that is beyond old enough to start riding his bike! (I mean come on I was like 5 when I learned to ride my bike) So we took him into the front yard and started riding. I held on to the back of the bike seat and Ted stood at the end of the driveway. Dylan fell a few times, but he learned really quick. He is an awesome bike rider! It was such a thrilling moment to teach Dylan something as a family! Being a parent is so awesome!

  • The day that Ted proposed. That day was amazing! Ted sent me on a scavenger hunt with Dylan. Then I went to his parents house and saw a candle lit path heading to the back yard. There Ted was, at the top of the stairs, waiting for me. There was lights everywhere and a beautiful bouquet of roses on the table. We sat down and had a great meal! The best thing of all- Dylan was our waiter! He was seriously so adorable! After dinner, Dylan came out and asked me to be his mommy. Then Ted got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. It was absolutely beautiful and romantic!

  • Our wedding day. Beyond the best day of my life so far! It was so beautiful and perfect! It was everything that I wanted, yet so much more! That day made my life complete. I married my absolute best friend and eternal companion! I love him more than I thought was possible!

  • Our Honeymoon. We went to Snowbird for 7 days and it was the best week ever! We were able to just relax and enjoy spending time together. It was an amazing week!

Those are just a few of the many great memories that I have with Ted and Dylan. They are my whole world! I would be nothing without them!

I vow to always love you through the ups and downs, twists and turns, because I know that those adventures will only make us stronger. I promise to love you unconditionally, even when you keep me up at night because you snore so loud. I promise to love you every second of every day for the rest of eternity. You are my everything, my heart and soul. Thank you for choosing me!
